The master plan was first introduced at a meeting of the Hudson County planning
board on October 17, 2001. The official public hearing was held on January 16,
2002 following a ninety day public comment period. The master plan was then
approved by the county planning board on February 20, 2002. The Hudson County
Board of Chosen Freeholders then accepted and adopted the master plan on March 28,
2002. By law, (40:27-4) the county planning board disseminated the master plan to
each municipal clerk, planning board and governing body.
The county master plan has taken years to prepare and is encyclopedic in its scope
of information, including the most up-to-date data from the 2000 census. Please
