JEFFREY DUBLIN ELECTED 2008 CHAIRMAN
OF HUDSON COUNTY FREEHOLDER BOARD
Freeholder Jeffrey Dublin of Jersey City,
representing the Third Freeholder District, was elected Chairman of
the 2008 Freeholder Board at the board’s annual reorganization
meeting held on Thursday, January 3, 2008.
First elected to the Board of Chosen
Freeholders in 2004 by the Democratic Committee of Freeholder
District 3 to fill the unexpired term of former Freeholder William
Braker, he was elected to a full term in November 2005.
Last year he served as Vice Chairman of the
Board and the previous year as Chairman Pro Tempore. Since becoming
Freeholder he has chaired the County Government, Oversight and
Policy Review Committee as well as the Transportation Committee and
the Family Services and Welfare to Work Committee. He has served as
a member of the Hudson County Planning Board and as a committee
member on Task Force on the Homeless, Women and Minority Affairs,
Purchasing and the Public Safety, Department of Corrections and
Emergency Management Committees.
Also elected were Freeholder Doreen
DiDomenico of Bayonne as Vice Chairwoman; Freeholder Al Cifelli of
Harrison as Chairman Pro Tempore; Freeholder Maurice Fitzgibbons of
Hoboken as Delegate to the New Jersey Association of Counties; and
County Administrator Abe Antun as Alternate Delegate to the New
Jersey Association of Counties.

Hudson County Freeholder Chairman Jeffrey
Dublin and Veterans Affairs Director Barry Dugan announced that
applications for the Hudson County Veterans Service Medal are
available throughout the entire year.
Veterans can apply for forwarding their
names, mailing address, phone number, branch of service and dates
(between December 7, 1941 and December 31, 1946 for World War II;
between June 23, 1950 and January 31, 1955 for Korea; and between
December 31, 1961 and May 7, 1975 for Viet Nam. Enclose a copy of
Form DD214 (Record of Service and Honorable Discharge) and mail to:
