This Office researches and facilitates policy initiatives of the County
Executive and provides communications services that include press relations and
public outreach. The Director also serves as speechwriter and researcher for
public remarks as requested by the County Executive. All requests for
advertising by the Office of the County Executive must approved by the Director.
The Director of Policy & Communications also serves as the administrator
of the County website, www.hudsoncountynj.org, and as the producer of Hudson
County Today with County Executive Tom DeGise, a half-hour public affairs
program that is shown weekly throughout Hudson County.

Manhattan Avenue Viaduct south wing (between 14th street Viaduct and Paterson Plank Road) to be closed evenings beginning Monday, June 29th.
Jersey Ciyt, NJ — The Hudson County Division of Engineering announced today that the Manhattan Avenue Viaduct south wing (between 14th streeet Viaduct and Paterson Plank Road), Union City will be closed between the hours of 8:00 pm and 5:00am the next morning. This Closure will start on Monday 6/29/09 and continue through Thursday 7/2/09, and the following Monday 7/6/09. There will be no closure on Friday, 7/3, Saturday 7/4, and Sunday 7/5. Detour will be set up and all vehicles shall follow the detour. Emergency vehicles are allowed throught the construction area. Police traffice directors (County Sheriff Officers) will be stationed at both ends of the closure. Local access to the Doric Tower is only allowed from the southern end of the viaduct at Paterson Plank Road. This closure is needed to perform scaling down of the existing rock face.
