UNDER THE BRIDGE UNVEILED—County Executive Tom DeGise (center), Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer (right), Freeholder Anthony Romano (left) and Hoboken Councilman Peter Cunninghan (center) were on hand Tuesday evening at an event sponsored by the City of Hoboken to publicly unveil the plans for the area beneath the 14th Street Viaduct. The century-old Viaduct will be completely replaced as part of a $45 million dollar infrastructure upgrade of this section of Northwest Hoboken overseen by the County. Residents, members of a citizens committee that shaped the plans and the press had the opportunity to quiz the elected officials and representatives of the County Engineering team working on the project.
