VIVA BORICUA! — Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise, Freeholder Eliu Rivera and a host of local officials welcomed Jersey City Puerto Rican Parade Committee President Armando Roman and leaders and honorees from the Puerto Rican-American Community of Hudson County for the Puerto Rican Flag Raising outside the County Court House today. The County Executive and Freeholder then presented nearly 50 citations from the County to Hudson County Puerto Rican-Americans honored with designation by the Parade Committee. The flag raising begins a weekend of celebration of Puerto Rican-American heritage including the annual dinner dance and parade in Jersey City.
